My Favorite Sunglasses From Victoria Beckham

The Pair I Fell in Love With

Hello, my dear glasses lovers! Today I want to show you my favorite Victoria Beckham glasses — VB614S — the pair I fell in love with the most out of all her designs.

I first saw these glasses in Victoria Beckham’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection, and it was love at first sight. I loved them so much that I even remember cutting a picture of them out of a magazine and sticking it into my notebook. At that point, I didn’t own them yet. I simply loved their unusual shape and hoped that maybe one day I would find a pair for myself. And then, one day, I found them on sale in an optical store. Of course, I bought them.

The shape that got me

The first thing that attracted me was their shape. They are unusual without being impossible to wear. And this is actually one of the things I love about Victoria Beckham in general. I think she is incredibly talented, and she is one of those designers whose clothes and accessories I can look at on a runway and think: yes, I could actually wear this.

There is fashion that is wonderful to look at but belongs almost entirely to the fantasy world of a fashion show. And then there are pieces that are distinctive and interesting but can still become part of your real wardrobe. These sunglasses are exactly that for me. They have a strong shape. They have character. You notice them immediately. But somehow, they are still very easy to wear. And after all these years, I still love them just as much as I did when I cut that picture out of a magazine.

From the runway to my collection

There is something I particularly love about owning glasses that I first saw on a runway. You see them as part of somebody else’s vision — on a model, with a particular outfit, in a particular collection — and then eventually they become part of your own world.

You wear them with your clothes. You take them on your travels. You create completely different combinations with them. And suddenly they have another story. That is probably why finding runway glasses makes me so happy. I’m not trying to recreate the original runway look. I want to see what happens when those glasses enter my wardrobe.

How I styled them

And for these Victoria Beckham sunglasses, I decided to have some fun with prints. If you have spent any time in The Museum of Glasses, you probably already know that I have a weakness for unusual prints. For this look, I mixed two tropical ones: monkeys and banana leaves. And then there is another little detail that makes the outfit special to me. The jewelry I’m wearing was sent to me from Brazil by my student Ricardo. I love incorporating things with personal stories into my outfits, and somehow these pieces from Brazil fit perfectly into this little tropical world of monkeys and banana leaves.

The result is colorful and playful, but at the same time I don’t think it feels too much. Actually, that contradiction is something I really love in clothes: I love looking understated and colorful at the same time. Maybe that sounds impossible, but apparently this is exactly the kind of problem I enjoy solving. 😁

And the Victoria Beckham sunglasses are perfect for it. Their geometric shape gives some structure to all those tropical prints and keeps the whole look feeling urban rather than turning it into a full tropical holiday costume.

A picture in a notebook became a pair in my collection

I think this is one of the reasons I still have such affection for these glasses. They remind me of that very simple moment when I saw something beautiful in a magazine and thought, I want these. No complicated collector strategy. No investment. No plan. I just liked a pair of glasses enough to cut out their picture and keep it.

A few years later, they are sitting in The Museum of Glasses. That, to me, is one of the nicest things about collecting.
