Some glasses take months to find.

These took years.

I bought these glasses from one of my favourite eBay sellers, who specialises in rare and artistic eyewear. His shop is always full of fascinating finds, and he was incredibly kind and generous. If you love unusual glasses, I highly recommend browsing his store.

I had never heard of the brand before, but I instantly fell in love with the little black sheep standing proudly among all the white ones.

The price was rather high, so I kept coming back to them over and over again, hoping they would still be there. Luckily, the owner of the shop was incredibly kind and offered me a generous discount.

That was all I needed…

A few days later, the Black Sheep glasses became part of my collection

The glasses come in a beautiful presentation box marked Limited Edition. Although they were made in China, the craftsmanship is excellent. They feel solid, beautifully balanced and surprisingly luxurious in the hand. I don’t know the exact year they were produced, but I believe they are from the 2000s or perhaps even the 2010s.

Sometimes the most memorable pieces are not the oldest ones—they are simply the ones that tell a story.

My Outfit

Since the glasses are entirely black and white, I decided to build a playful monochrome look around them.

I wore a black dress with white polka dots and continued the theme with mismatched accessories: one black earring, one white earring, and two polka-dot bracelets—one white with black dots, the other black with white dots.

I wanted the whole outfit to feel a little whimsical, just like the glasses themselves.

I have always had a soft spot for polka dots. I love prints of all kinds, but black-and-white polka dots have always been among my favourites. They seemed like the perfect companion for these glasses, turning the whole outfit into a little celebration of contrast and playfulness.

Watch the Story on YouTube

These glasses inspired one of the most personal stories I have ever shared on my YouTube channel.

In this episode, I talk about my mother’s knitting machine, life in Russia during the early 1990s, the German Verena magazines that shaped my childhood, Princess Diana’s famous Black Sheep sweater, and how all of these memories unexpectedly came together because of this remarkable pair of glasses.

I hope you enjoyed this little photoshoot and my playful black-and-white outfit as much as I enjoyed creating it.
