sthenos “demain”

These unusual vintage glasses immediately reminded me of Ancient Greece. Their minimalist design, delicate golden lines and architectural simplicity feel almost timeless.

The model is called “Demain” (“Tomorrow” in French), a name that feels surprisingly fitting for a design that seems to exist outside of time. While working on my video “Glasses of the Gods”, I noticed how closely these glasses resembled ancient gold pins displayed at the Istanbul Archaeology Museum. The thin horizontal lines reminded me of spear tips, while the overall design echoed the elegance of ancient Greek ornaments.

Lightweight, comfortable and unlike anything else in my collection, these glasses became one of my favourite acquisitions and a reminder of a beautiful world of myths, heroes and timeless stories.
